The Fallen Scales

(NOTE: This poem is written during my Creative Writing final exam, 3 days after May 9).

Once upon a time in Suvarnabhumi,
The blind hulubalang worked day and night;
Guarding the fortress of an autonomy -
- and old hexagon that is blue and white.

Thanks to the slick imperial seduction,
The Bendahara had his lust on fire;
He turned this land into millions of faction,
Using the arrows of paranoia.

Tired of the shameless attack that happened,
All the jelata retaliated;
They didn't use Taming Sari as weapon,
Just small crosses waiting to be counted.

A new morning begins with a smiling sun,
The red and white hibiscus blooms proudly;
This battle of power is finally won,
By the people who fought wholeheartedly.
